Default Best Christmas gift you\'ve ever received or given?

I've been noticing more and more Christmas threads in OOT lately, but haven't seen this one yet (I didn't search, I admit.). There have been several threads about what you want for Christmas, but it seems with things like this you never get any post-game summary. Hopefully, this thread will remind some people of what makes a great gift, and maybe give some of us that suck at gifting some good ideas of things to get for people!

So OOT, what is the best present you've received? What's the best gift you've given? Best can either be "OMG I like this so much!" or "OMG this is so creative!"---just post what it was, and why it was great.

I know that an OP should contain my answer, but honestly, I want to think about it some.

Got a Millennium Falcon for X-mas 1978. I was very happy with it.

Best received: Atari 2600 about 25 years ago.
Best given: meh, I give gift certificates.

I got a carton of cigarettes. The old man grabbed me and said, "Hey, smoke up Johnny.".

My brother and father teamed up to buy me a PC, and my mom got me a kitten on the same Christmas. That ruled.

Skystriker (the plane from GI Joe) in 1984. To this day I don't recall wanting something so bad.

My mom bought me a single ticket to SF, to stay with my sister for 2 months. It was absolutely awesome.

I remember I was pretty psyched up about a Starter jacket I got back in say 1989-90.
