PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t50 (8 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com

UTG (t275)
UTG+1 (t1865)
MP1 (t1825)
MP2 (t1435)
CO (t1445)
Button (t3765)
Hero (t1425)
BB (t1465)

Preflop: Hero is in SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
<font color="gray">UTG folds</font>, <font color="red">UTG+1 raises to t150</font>, MP1 calls t150, <font color="gray">MP2 folds</font>, <font color="gray">CO folds</font>, Button calls t150, <font color="red">Hero raises to t1425 (All-in)

I think this is a -EV push am I correct?
I cant believe I am still playing this bad!! <font color="black"> </font>
What could UTG+1's range be here and no I dont have reads and yes I know I need reads to find out his range but just humor me?

I dont think shoving here is an awful play but I agree that flat calling is the best option for you here.

if utg+1 is average to good player he is raising AQ+,TT+ or something close to it. with the two callers in there you are most likely up against at least 1 pocket pair. you will likely be racing from behind here, so i would just call this.

Well the issue is whether you think there's a decent chance they will all fold, because 500 chips helps you a WHOLE bunch and with the dead money in there a coinflip isn't so bad.

I guess if you had a read that UTG+1 was LAGgy, I'd shove. But vs. the usual crop of retards I'd just call.

Hmmm, without reads that UTG+1 was a real nitty solid player, I'd be pushing all the time here. So much dead money in chips going on here.
