Am I the fish or is he? (2-7)
.25/.5 2-7 on UB
so I was not paying attention and completely blew a hand... I stood pat on final draw with 34567 (yes, I know I am a moron) and villain drew 1... thinking I had a made hand (yes, I know I am a moron) I bet into him and he called me with 22... is he insane to call with a pair against a pat hand or is this the right play in some cases?? yes, I know I am a moron, but for the sake of this discussion this is not relevant, so let's please not waste any time discussing why I thought a straight was good... I'm just wondering if it is EVER correct to call with a pair against a pat hand in these micro-limit games? or should I just be very pleased that there are ppl out there who think a pair could possibly be good in that spot? |

One thing that happens sometimes that makes me call with any pair is when you get confused people playing draw high.. This is something you run into a lot in micro limits.. Sadly this doesnt happen in many games above 30-60
As a whole calling with a pair is pretty awful to catch snow because you lose to a lot of hands that people are using to snow. For example if you call with 33.. someone could have 22789 and is now betting for value on you.. I sometimes snow reguardless of what pairs ive made because ive sensed weakness.. For example he draws 1 on second draw I draw 2 but have a feeling his draw is bad, i may raise and stand pat with whatever i catch.. Ive had a person call me with 22 before and My AQ238 was good... Bottom line, if you try to catch snow you should do it with a hand that serves to beat most of the hands people snow with. |
