Default How long does milk outside a fridge stay ok to drink?

I bought the milk two days ago and left it out overnight. It's a half gallon and is in the fridge right now. Is this ok to drink?

If it goes green, or seperates, or has lumps in, that's bad. If it tastes a bit crappy, so what, you only had one mouthful.

My grandad was a health inspector, and he always said to me "a little bit of dirt never hurt anyone".

Bad use of poll.

1) Smell it. If it smells OK proceed to step 2.
2) Take a sip. If it tastes bad throw away, if not drink.

I've gotten upset stomachs from drinking milk that smelled kind of funky and tasted ok. Now if I come across any milk that smells bad I don't take any chances. I do not believe the cost of the milk is worth an afternoon of gas and cramps.

Does it taste good?

Yes -> Drink It

No -> Go to the store and buy new half gallon for $1

I prefer milk to be slightly below room temperature. Tastes more creamy. Take a sip, if it's sour, toss it, if not it's good. Even if it was a little sour, you wouldn't have any health concerns from drinking it.

The rule of thumb for milk is 1 hour on the counter = 1 day in the fridge. If it's two full days out that would be about a month and a half fridge time, which is pretty disgusting.

Milk outside fridge: 20 minutes
Milk inside fridge: 3 days

Milk is [censored] disgusting.

Try pouring it all over your body and see how you smell.
