Default Files only download up to 99%

Hey Guys,

Im having trouble downloading any new sofware on to my computer. When ever I try to download a program and save it, it downloads upto 99% of the file and stops, leaving the download incomplete. Why is this happening? What can I do to fix it?

Thanks,

ac

Assuming you are using IE, the first thing I think of when flakey things happen is to empty your cache. Tools/Options then click Delete Files under Temporary Internet Files.

I just deleted temp. files and did a disk clean up. Restarted computer and its the same.
I have a trial version of Norton Anti-virus. Could this be whats preventing files to be downloaded?

Possibly, try disabling it.

Internet Explorer "caches" everything, even downloads. You may be telling it to save in My Documents but IE is keeping a copy in a location that clearing your temporary Internet Files doesn't actually clean up. It then copies the file from this location to the one you told it to save to.
Look under C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\CONTENT.IE5
