\"thats the worst call ive ever seen\"
I posted this in a bad beat forum (you can guess waht other guy had) on a different website and the first two people that replied said I made a horrible call. I thought this was a trivial call. Am I crazy?

Re: \"thats the worst call ive ever seen\"
I dont like the check call, its ok on the flop but either bet out on the turn and hope to get raised or at least check raise his bet.
As you played it the river call is alright, there is a lot he could be raising with as you have shown no strength at all - an 8, 9 or overpair could all be in villains range, hopefully its just not 99. |

Re: \"thats the worst call ive ever seen\"
Why is it good to raise the turn?

Re: \"thats the worst call ive ever seen\"
Well I thought that if he had Ax or 77-22 and thought it was good that a CR would just drive him out and I wanted to keep those hands in. I wanted my river bet to look like a complete buy. Is this really bad?

Re: \"thats the worst call ive ever seen\"
Thats why I prefer to bet out fairly strong on that turn, if he has a hand that he likes then he could raise you and you can push. It saves you some trouble with what was a bit of a tricky river card too.
Just my opinion... I could well be wrong about this one. |

Yea I don't really know I think I was just destined to lose this hand, he had 69 of diamonds.

Re: \"thats the worst call ive ever seen\"
Raising the flop might've let you know how strong he was. I don't mind going broke with this hand and personally would try to get more in sooner.

Re: \"thats the worst call ive ever seen\"
I would've C/R-ed the flop. If he calls you then, it becomes more easy to put him on a 6.
As you played it you are completely in the dark. He could be firing 2 or 3 barrels at you with an overpair or whatever. I know I would with you being so passive. By the river, when you finally lead out, the fact that he still pushed should be enough to find a fold. I think any 8, 9 or overpair would just call your $50 bet. |
