Default Coughlin Giants: Most frustrating team to watch in sports history?

Imagine you are a Giants fan... Given the talent level and the multitude of absurdities that have happened, leading the Giants to their current lowly position, how could they not? I mean, seriously, think about the amount of unreal events it took to lose the Tennessee game alone, not to mention small crap like the Bears running for a first down on 3rd and 22 when the Giants were up 13-3 at the end of the half in that game, fully swinging the momentum... etc, etc, etc... and, of course, the injuries.

(I am also interested in hearing other stories about various frustrating teams from the past if you disagree.)

The Don -

they are certainly up there. Let's not forget that this carries over from the Fassel era, losing vs. Minnesota in 97 and the Niners in 2003. This team has been oddly cursed - I don't know if it was Norwood's missed kick or what.

I think the Philadelphia Flyers and or Eagles have to be up there.

New York Rangers of the late 90's and early 2000's were frustrating.

The Giants are just in a rut.

No - these teams you could give up on very early in the season because they weren't very good. They were frustrating from July 1 to about November 15th when anyone with half a brain realized this wasn't the year.

The Giants clearly have talent and are capable of using it. They just have had all sorts of crazy [censored] happen to them.

The Giants are completely banged up right now.

This like blaming Andy Reid for Donovan McNabb's injury. Just doesn't work.

I remember the Vikings and Niners games, and those were far more heartbreaking, but this team does it (or has it done to them) every single time they lose. I never come out of a loss satisfied, saying "we should have lost they game, they were the better team" like I did with the Fassal teams. The Fassal teams never had even close to the amount of injuries, although they were undisciplined (Coughlin was supposed to fix that), they just weren't even close to the talent level of the current Giants team.

A frustrating loss comes when a team is good but still loses for various reasons other than being worse than the other team. I am not blaming Coughlin (although the team is completely undisciplined under him), I'm mainly just cursing fate, you know... frustrated.

Andy Reid and Coughlin seem like two of the worst coaches in the NFL. They take great talent and fail to develop it and create a core that works together and wins game. They also make insane play calls that don't utilize the strength of the team.

Coughlin also has 0 idea about this small thing called the salary cap.

Look at the 2000-2002 Jaguars. Coughlin is an awful coach.

Yeah, lol. You had to realize with Coughlin you get to eventually run your team in to salary cap troubles.
