$1/2 nl at Sky City Auckland. Between arguments about string bets, explaining to retards they can't reraise $1, and watching the cricket on TV, seat one notices dealer re-using red deck. WTF dealer, put them in the shuffler yo!
Dealer - no waai - I use three times FLoor???! Umm - please place in shuffler each time Dealer - OK Brag - Floor > dealer |

1/2 NL at Sky City? I backpacked in New Zealand for 8 months in 2004/2005 and looked for poker when I was in Auckland but Sky City didn't have any tables. I guess it just wasn't as popular worldwide back then? Total beat.

What was his/her name? I remember the poker room in Sky City, I was there every night for like a month when I was in NZ. Constant chaos. Nobody knew the rules properly, not even the floor. People were allowed to dig their cards out of the muck, take bets back after you had raised, etc. It must be the worst [censored] poker room on the planet.

Beat for you as you would have funded your entire trip by playing the "big game" (2-5 nl) I struggle to beat ssnl online, but consistently win live at Sky City. You can play 1 hand an hour and still get ridiculous action from at least 2 or 3 gonzos, who will immediately rebuy. [ QUOTE ] What was his/her name? [/ QUOTE ] This was a new dealer - had just been trained (lol). [ QUOTE ] I remember the poker room in Sky City, I was there every night for like a month when I was in NZ. Constant chaos. Did you play with the same players every night? - they are still there, and still suck Except the S American student. Nice guy, sits down around 8pm in any game, leaves 3 hour later with a couple of racks lol. I have only ever played at Sky City in my brief history, but from reading 2+2 it clearly is pretty bad. However, there is no angle-shooting, no retarded behaviour and so if you just chill out, it still a nice place to be. I guess from what I read here it is like on-line poker was a few years ago. Basic starting hands makes you a winner, reading the board/position makes you a pro and it is hard to bluff or play position aggressively when there is an ORRR IN every hand! |
