TAG donks river. Raising here is standard, no?
Arg, I still haven't found a converter for FT yet. SB seems to be TAGish, though bad (i.e. betting and calling down UI AK in multi-way pots). MP is shaping up to be a TAG too, though I've only played 4 orbits with him.
Preflop: Hero is dealt K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in the BB 1 fold, MP raises, 2 folds, SB 3-bets, Hero caps, MP folds, SB calls. Flop (10 SB): 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls. Turn (7 BB): 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls. River (9 BB): 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB bets, Hero... I can't think of one reason not to raise this river. Seems like SB has taken the WA/WB line. Also, what would you do if you decided to raise and he 3-bets you? |

well if its a WA/WB he is going to fold, if its not he's 3 betting. I think I call.

Haven't been able to find a converter for FT either. Any programmers out there willing to help with that?
Yeah, definitely a WA/WB situation. First, what stakes is this? And your table image may make a difference here. I think it's a good river raise. But if SB is a thinking player and you have an AGG image, this is a great donk if he's got KK or AA. If he three-bets and you're calling, I think you're hoping to chop. |

Re: TAG donks river. Raising here is standard, no?
Forgot the stakes. It's 1/2, and my table image is I think somewhat of a maniac the last 2 orbits but that's because I'd been catching some hot cards and taking down tons of pots.

I agree... this does look like a WA/WB line. I raise it too.

Also, since when did AA/KK take a WA/WB line on this board??

Re: TAG donks river. Raising here is standard, no?
Id probably raise this mostly because people take WA/WB lines with tp hands on this board vs a capper often and plan on bet folding but bet call (or plan on bet calling), most people hate not seeing the cards flip over.
if ur calling the 3bet even tho chances of him bet 3betting a worse hand are near zero the river raise has thin value but Id imagine is still +EV ( because most of the time it ll go down bet, raise, call, ship the pot to u). hands that include a 9 are a small part of his 3betting range out of the sb ( and I dont know why he wouldnt go for the cr) and most of the time other better hands than urs would have raised the turn. |

well if its a WA/WB he is going to fold, if its not he's 3 betting. I think I call. [/ QUOTE ] Well most people are weak in their minds. So although he planned to bet-fold alot of people tend to call in this spot... Hence we raise and expect to be paid off enough for this to be +EV |

A raise here is fine, I don't think that he holds a lot of hands that beat you but he'll probably call a bet in a lot of spots.

Results:
<font color="white"> I raised and SB ended up calling the raise with an unimproved AQ. I was quite amused, as the river donk initially scared me, but this hand definitely solidified my read that I had posted earlier. Thanks to those who responded.</font> |
