Apologies in advance for this retarded skydiving question
So I know this guy who is going skydiving on the 10th. He's done it before and the four other dudes that we were with haven't, when a question was posed - what happens when it rains, and you go skydiving? Can you even still do it? (It's about 100mi to where this guy is doing the jump)
Apparently nobody there knew if you could or couldn't jump in the rain. Then was this pearler, that again nobody could answer: "So, if you CAN jump when it rains - like - REALLY driving rain - do you get wet, or do you 'beat' the rain down?" Arguement was that if you fall at the same rate as this heavy rain, then you follow the rain below you and the rain above follows you as well. Another guy reckons you'd fall faster than the rain, so you'd get wet by the water below you, but not by the water above. I can't work it out. Anyone know the answer? |

Re: Apologies in advance for this retarded skydiving question
I've never been skydiving, but isn't it windy up there? Seems like if it was raining the rain would be flying all over the place.
*Edit-- And as far as retarded questions go, this one is right up there. |

You are heavier than the rain, so you fall faster. Basic physics man.

It depends on how good you are at skydiving.
