I've seen the term a couple of times in the last week. Someone used the term wet board, and another wrote that that a flop was wet.

Dry = safe. [/ QUOTE ] I feel like I'm taking a standardized test, haha. So wet = dangerous! Thanks for the quick reply! |

Probably the same meaning as 'action' flop

Dry = safe. [/ QUOTE ] Not precisely. A wet board is one that makes a number of likely draws, or has cards on it which are more likely to have hit someone. A dry board is unlikely to have hit anyone either in terms of made hands or draws. |

Someone calling your flop bet will NOT be on a draw. |

When you PFR with AK, and the flop is K 8 3 , this board is very dry. Someone calling your flop bet will NOT be on a draw. [/ QUOTE ] lol, in my local 4/8 game, that's not necessarily the case. T9 will be there, A4d will call, etc etc. There may not be a QUALITY draw out there (open ender, etc), but it's amazing what people will call with. Just because it's a "dry" board doesn't mean some folks won't try to drill a well anyway...and sometimes hit water deep. Not a complaint by any means...it's an awesomely soft game. there is no such word relating to poker. People are using dry board=no draws. So obviously wet board=lots of draws. It's the same thing with people calling 9/10 handed games "long handed" because 6 max games are obviously "short handed"
