AK turns big draw, spike an A on the river
PF was a misclick so please ignore, I usually raise a few dollars more.
Poker Room skin No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $2/$4 4 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $212.30 Button: $513.65 Hero: $524 BB: $758.60 Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG folds, Button calls, Hero raises to $15, BB folds, Button calls. Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($34, 2 players) Hero bets $30, Button calls. Turn: T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($94, 2 players) Hero bets $75, Button calls. River: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($244, 2 players) Hero checks, Button bets $100, Hero calls. Results: Final pot: $444 Opponent is loose/stupid, but not overly aggro. I thought the river was sort of tough, I called but I really wasn't happy about it. Looking for thoughts on turn and river. Anyone like a c/c or c/r on the turn more than a bet? Fold river? Comments on all streets appreciated. |

If he's a loose passive just value bet the river, fold to a raise.

Raise more pre. I like flop/turn. You seem too deep to c/r turn, aside from the fact that I dunno how often a loose player will bet/fold turn. Since opponent is loose/stupid, I think bet/fold might be better than c/c.

Re: AK turns big draw, spike an A on the river
I think bet/fold is easily your best option here.... check/calling to induce a bluff induce a bluff from....? A queen or worse will always check for a showdown, and the draw didn't miss so it won't be a bluff. This is going to be a situation where your value in a bet is really thin, but it also lets you set a price for showdown when he only calls, while telling you where you're at otherwise.

Re: AK turns big draw, spike an A on the river
I think because of the preflop misclick and his small river bet this is a fold. I'm having trouble putting him on a hand that doesnt beat you that takes that line. Essentially I think you have to be putting him on total air/low pocket pair that he called two streets with and will decide to make a weak bluff at the river a lot of the time. Most people who are calling down with any pair in this spot will just check that river behind because its an ace that completes the draw. The reason being is that usually when you see something like 22 call you down its because they put you on Ax and since there is no ace they must have the best hand. Once you check the ace they're fully expecting you to call down with an ace and a lot of other made hands there.
Its might seem pretty weak, but I think he has aces up or a flush here a good portion of the time. His river bet just really looks like a value bet to me and he doesn't much care the ace hit. |

Re: AK turns big draw, spike an A on the river
why do u say bet fold, he checked the same amount he would bet...
so if he bet .. hed just get raised or called. .. so if u are going to bet 100 . .call 100 .. right? |

Re: AK turns big draw, spike an A on the river
i'd c/c the turn. if he's loose and passive, why bet a draw? he's going to pay off a decent bet on the river if you hit, whether it goes c/c on the turn or check/check.
i also like bet/fold river. |
