I know many people won't like just calling on the turn, but notice the fact that that turn card really woke him up. He went from calling to betting out. I've showed no weakness at this point, so he at least has a hand he thinks can stand up to pressure. Obviously it doesn't *have* to mean he has the straight, but what are the other possible ranges here, and how do I best play this spot? Assume no stats or reads on villain. Any and all comments are appreciated. |

tough spot on the river.... raise the turn up. i like a little more than double his bet. see where it puts you.

Re: $10NL - Top set vs straight-heavy board
I'm going to call the river bet. The only hand which really has you beat it JT. 56 is unlikely since they called a big bet on the flop, though maybe 56hearts is possible. There's also a heap of hands you beat like 2 pair or a smaller set. I'm usually not throwing away top set without probably 4 to a straight or flush on board.

Re: $10NL - Top set vs straight-heavy board
I like the turn call, your both kinda deep so no need to blow the pot up yet. If he has a straight and you fill up you'll still get all in.
As for river, he looks eager to get money in, I let it go readless. i think 56 and JT are likely. |
