Lead this flopped medium FD on paired board against big field?
PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
Preflop: Hero is SB with 9, 4. UTG calls, 1 fold</font>, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 2 folds</font>, Button calls, Hero completes, BB checks. Flop: (7 SB) 8, K, 8 (7 players)</font> Hero... Is this a trivially easy lead? or am I dumb? |

I wouldn't call it a trivially easy lead but probably the most +EV move since you'll probably get enough callers for pot equity.

Re: Lead this flopped medium FD on paired board against big field?
Want do you want to do by leading? Build the pot? I am not sure your hand is good enough to play that confidently. Even if you make your flush somebody may have a higher flush or a redraw to a full house or a bigger flush. With so many players in the hand I would check: Surely somebody must have some kind of made hand and I don't want to give him the opportunity to raise this flop and drive out weaker draws. Wait and see how the flop develops.
Don't do the betting for your enemies. |

Re: Lead this flopped medium FD on paired board against big field?
You obviously have an equity edge against 6 (!) opponents, so you want money going into the pot. That doesn't mean automatically leading. On a bad day, you lead the flop, catch BB with a K, he raises, and it goes fold-fold-fold-fold back to you.
Leading is okay, but it's not trivial. Checking would be okay too, especially if you have some aggressive players on your left. If the guys on your left are passive, then leading swings to a no-brainer. |

I generally lead out here.

Re: Lead this flopped medium FD on paired board against big field?
Whether to lead or not should depend on how aggressive or passive the players are and where they are seated in relation to you. You have to determine the best way to get bets in while keeping players in.
The worse thing that can happen is that the flop gets checked through. We also do not want to end up HU. |

Re: Lead this flopped medium FD on paired board against big field?
I check with the intention of check-raising. If it gets checked around then I do not mind. If there is a bet, I am going to try to push out anyone with two diamonds out or a single high diamond. I do not think leading is a bad play, but I like a check-raise better on a board like this.
