Default Full Tilt allows users on same IP play same games

How do i know this? My wife and I both play alot of poker. We moved to FTP recently after trying other sites since Party closed. Last night we accidently ended up on the same table, in the same hand, something I didnt think was possible. I didnt even realize this until she phoned me from downstairs telling me I had joined her table and was in the same pot. We play multiple tables, usually different stakes so we had never encountered this problem before. Obviously we dont want or need to collude. It is more valuable to us to keep a good reputation with the site we play on so she immediately left the table.
How can it be that players sharing an IP address can play on the same table? This is'nt right. Why do Full Tilt not take measures to prevent this. Party had a pop up box which stopped you from sitting, so it was easy to avoid this.

I find it very disturbing that no one is replying to this post. I am the wife Timmy speaks of. We were shocked to discover that it was technically possible to even SIT DOWN on the same table. This is never possible on Party, and it shouldn't be! This is a serious problem for the integrity of the games on Full Tilt. The fact that no one is responding leads me to believe that people don't want to draw attention to this. Perhaps some of you are benefiting from it? I would love to hear what people think of this.

Whats to stop 2 people from different IPs from communicating over the phone or through an IM program to achieve the exact same thing?

email full tilt support or PM FTDoug

It would really suck to get your funds confiscated. If you give them a heads up as to what you guys do (play on same IP) and try to keep off the tables it shouldn't really be a problem

Full tilt really cracks down on colluders, i wouldn't worry about people doing it to you too much.

Relax. Take a deep breath. Sorry the forum didn't jump to attention immediately after hubby's post.

Yes, it sucks. Bodog allows this as well. It's ridiculous. You might want to keep it quiet, though. Clearly all of 2+2 is benefiting from this.

I'm not sure how common collusion is (personally I don't think it's common at all at stakes <$1000NL), but some guy posted/said in a book that the people who do collude don't do it very well, i.e. they don't adapt the way they should.

If it doesn't immediately prevent you from sitting at the same table, I DO hope the FTP is notified at the very least. In fact, I hope you receive an e-mail about it soon.

Yes, the moment I realized we were on the same table (we both multi so I didn't realize until we were in a hand!) I folded, called my husband (whose office is upstairs), and left the table. I checked my email right away, certain that something must catch this, and I would hate for our accounts to ever have problems. We are honest players, and I beleive there is far more $ to be made playing good poker than trying to orchestrate some collusion scheme. But there are not many games on Full Tilt, especially early in the day, and the games are tough enough without the possiblity of playing against people in the same Frat house or something.
