This is pretty general. I'm doing a project on acid rain. 2 of the factors of Acid Rain are SO2 and NOx. Factories can slow SO2, individuals can slow NOx. The main cause of NOx is automobile combustion. You as an individual can drive less, buy a fuel efficient car, or carpool. Good luck.

recycle, conserve energy (energy star appliances, turn off lights when you leave the room, wear a sweater and don't turn on the heat etc,) conserve gas (smaller cars, alternative energy,) put solar panels on your house...

Now THAT would freak him out. |
