Default 2,2 a few hands after the Q,Q hand, same villian as before

Okay, a couple orbits after the Queens on paired king turn.

Same Villian as before limps in the hijack. Bad player in CO limps, I limp black 2's on the button, SB folds, BB checks.

Flop- 10 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Hijack bets, CO calls, Hero raises, BB folds, HJ 3 bets, Button folds, Hero caps

Turn - J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
HJ checks, Hero bets, HJ calls

River - King [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
HJ checks, Hero bets

Would anyone play this differently because of prior hand? Also, is limping 2's here standard? I don't normally limp here without a few more limpers but both players before me were so less than good and I felt like I had a good read on them so I came along for the ride. Any comments?

I would want more limpers than two before I limped along with my 22. I would fold preflop. I think the fact that HJ and CO are bad players makes the call better than it otherwise would be.

I think postflop is good.

Is there a general consensus among posters as to the number of limpers needed to limp with 22-55? This is probably covered somewhere but I'm having a hard time finding it.

[/ QUOTE ] When on the button, I think there should be at least 4 other people in with you to make a call with a small PP clearly correct. To call from the button with 22 with fewer than 4 limpers would usually be marginal IMO. I think 3 limpers to you would usually be a close decision....

Its an easy call....form the botton.in an unraised pot.

In TOP, it is recommended that you should be receiving about 5:1 to play small pocket pairs.

I didn't read the QQ post, but your play here seems fine. It's an unraised pot, so SB will most likely come along; you're probably getting 4-to-1 on your call, you're unlikely to get raised, and you have position. With 4 players (at least a couple of whom are bad), if you hit your deuce the flop is likely to hit at least one other player well enough to come along on later streets. Play from flop onward looks fine too.
