Chasing w/ smaller pair - Stud 8

In 7CSFAP, it says that you should chase on 5th street with an underpair if you have 2 overcards or a live ace. Is that only true for stud high, where your opponent may be semibluffing, or is it also true for stud 8, where your opponent has a big pair almost all of the time?

This seems to say no, but I'm curious to hear everyone's opinion.

Unless your opponent is in a steal position facing a weak board, then he will almost always have what he's representing, so you should just fold on 3rd. Also, the fact that there will often be another player in the pot going low makes it even less favorable to try to outdraw an opponents high hand, since you will often end up with only half the pot when you make two pair or better, and sometimes even get scooped.

J22 is junk in Stud8. It isn't great in Stud high either.

Fold third. Fold fifth. Generally speaking, you want to avoid second-best hands like the plague in stud/8.
