Default sb move

My table image is tight
blinds are 300/600 75 ante 8 players UTG+1 calls mp1 and 2 call. I have seen all of them call fold to raises. Button calls. I look at red 4s in the sb with 15k in my stack so I deceide to make a move and pick up the dead money in the pot. So I raise to 6600. Utg+1 moves in after some thought for 4k more. The rest of the limps fold to me. Easy call in my book as I figure him for AK which he did have. Good or bad play?

What was the buy in? This is online right?

I hate your 11bb raise. I hate raising a third of my stack with pocket 4s.

I think you are too deep for a push and you don't want to play this hand OOP if you make a more standard sized (3,500) raise preflop and you hate to see someone limp-raise behind you so I think that I would just rap the table and flop my set.

After your super awkward raise I guess you are pot committed to a call but I think that he has a lot more options than AK only.

I think he has 77-JJ more often than AK.
I dislike this move with 4s as well, but with 99-JJ the move is standard. With 44 you're getting odds to call for set value in express odds alone here which makes this a wonderfully profitable call, I don't see any need to get fancy here.

With such a small stack I figured he would of raised most of those hands comming in. He also should of been raising AQ or better then I m gone for sure preflop. As it worked out I won a race and had a nice stack to run deep with.

"He should of been raising AQ or better" ... does nor correlate with ... "I figured him for AK."

If you had seen all of the players in this hand call-fold before preflop, why did you put UTG+1 on AK?

This seems to be the hole in your arguement.

Pretty sure it's because it's the only hand UTG+1 could possibly have had that would make Hero feel good about his hand, and he wanted to justify his crappy play somehow.

Making a statement like this doesn't make you sound like a good or even a decent player - it makes you sound ignorant. You simply CANNOT put a player on a hand THAT PRECISELY based on the action at that point, not if you're Phil Ivey, not if you're Negreanu or what have you.

BTW "I put him on AK" is the most common justification for every single time someone with a crappy pocket pair WAAAAAAY overplays it and is looking to justify the play SOMEHOW...

And oh, yeah - welcome to the forum.
