And how does this help you in your desision making when playing online? |

Yes.
Notes on his skills, aggression, tight/loose, over-under betting pot, check-raises, bluffing, etc. You make more accurate decisions when facing him. If he is tight and raises, you should fold marginal hands. If he is loose and aggressive and raises a lot, you can play marginal hands, and even re-raise with others. Etc. |

Get poker tracker and download gametime plus. Once you set up poker tracker and run gametime while you're at a table you'll be able to see other players stats on the screen while you play. After enough hands you can use these stats to see what type of players you're up against. I find it MUCH better than notes. The only time I use notes is when I see a player use the same move in specific situations and I try to memorize it for later.
