So why is NL Omaha so appealing at the micro-stakes?
In micro-stakes SNGs at Stars, I often see the NL Omaha Hi/Lo game fill up faster than I do its PL counterpart...I guess people who have a combined IQ lower than George W. Bush's prefer bingo to poker.

Small sample, but I've run about 21ptbb/100. I strongly suspect that the edges between an expert player (not saying that's me) and the masses may be greater than any other game spread. |

nl o8 at the microstakes is so much fun. i think this is why it is so popular. also it is incredibly easy to beat and quite clearly not bingo poker.

Re: So why is NL Omaha so appealing at the micro-stakes?
i regularly stick in river bets that are 5 times the pot and get called by a guy who gets quarted. i did it just yesterday with x x 5 6 on an A 2 3 4 5 board with no flushes. guy called 6 times pot all in on river to chop the low with me.

Its No Limit. The allure of the "big score"
I'm sure an intelligent player can make the big score waiting patiently for the scrubs to draw to their straights and flushes on a paired board - probably more "grinding" then anything, but since its No Limit, that grind could be momentary. |
