Just finished arguing with a friend about whether or not it is wrong to physically discipline your child. I got smacked around once in a while when I was younger when I acted up and I plan on doing the same when I have children.

What is OOT's opinion on the subject?

if kids still got spanked (not like beat with belts or punched or whatever, just spanked) when they misbehaved, there wouldn't be so many douche-bags in the world

also, i am seriously convinced that people are such douchebags today for the following reasons:

1) kids don't get spanked
2) cell-phones
3) no more '50s style fist-fights for looking at a guy's girlfriend the wrong way or for talking too much smack, since nowadays everyone gets sued

fix these 3 things and we would instantly be living in a much more polite society
