another question about sleeping
When you die in your dreams, do you immediately wake up, do you go to heaven or hell, or do you start another dream? For me, if I get shot or something, I realize I'm about to die, and when I'm "dead," I'll let a couple of seconds pass and wake up at that point. I'm guessing this is standard but not sure. I'm particularly curious about responses from religious people. (I'm atheist/agnostic.)

I never die in my dreams and you make it sound like it's a regular feature of yours. I wonder if this is common?

I wake up before I die. Often, I know it's a dream and wake up.
"Hmmm... I'm falling off a cliff...I'm falling...this is bad...I must be dreaming..." - *poof* awake

I've occasionally dreamed the actual death process--things start going dark, consciousness slipping. Yeah, it was [censored] up. Most of the time I just wake up or possibly go to another dream if I don't remember. I've had nightmares where I knew I was dreaming and the only way I could wake up was to let whoever/whatever was chasing me catch up and take me out.

I always wake up when I get killed in a dream.
On a related note, a few times i have dreamed that someone I know has died and the first few moments I wake up I think that they're dead. It takes a little while, but when I become fully awake, I realize that the person is not dead. This is always a relief. Anyone know what im talking about?

But, one dream I didn't. I kept on dreaming on what I can only expain to be an out of body experience. In the dream I saw my dead body on the pavement and I watched as people gathered around to see what happened. I even remember watching as someone draped my body with a sheet. Then I moved on to my heaven dream.
