Default Stu Ungar Vs Daniel Negreanu

I have bought Harrington on Hold'em Vol III and have done a tad of reading online about Stu Ungar. (RIP).

I got to thinking of the players around today, who would be best equipment to handle playing Stu.

Stu was able to put other players on hands with easy.
Stu was very agressive, mathmaticly as good as it gets.

If I had to hire a player to beat Stu, It would be a close call between Mr Negreanu or Sam Farha .

If some body done a indepth hand review on the late Stu Ungar, how he played, his moves, a book which tryed to get inside his play, his mind, that would be a world wide best seller, every poker player would buy it.

Given it would be hard for people to do what Stu did with out his skills but a lot of fokes would appericate a decent book like that, retail 25$> $55, count me in.

That book would sell, Im really disapointed I cant buy that book now.

Have a nice one every body.

It's impossible to tell how Stu would do against the great players of today.

Negreanu is of course an awesome player, but he is probably not the best. I'm actually not sure how Stu would make it at a table with say Barry Greenstein, Phil Ivey etc. Also would he beat the heck out of Patrik Antonius or Johny Lodden heads-up? I doubt it actually.

Phil Ivey is probably seen by many as the new Stu.

That said, Negreanu is great for the poker world in other ways. He's an excellent player and has a lot of features which make him one of the best stars for poker as a "brand".

I think he started on a biography which was completed by someone else after he died linky

I don't think there's much strategy in it, but it's entertaining.

How would Ty Cobb hit against Nolan Ryan? Sorry, but I think this sort of questions belongs into wonderland.

I read the book and in one of the last chapters it told how Stu was down on his luck and borrowed 25k from Mike Sexton to play in the biggest no-limit game in Vegas at the time. Its was 1998, the year after Stu won the world series and he was broke.

Negreanu, Seidal, and few other regulars were in the game. Stu went busto, lost his whole roll in about 2 hrs. It was the last game he ever played in. He died a few weeks later in a hotel room with 800$ in his pocket.

Stu would never have played the $200/400 PLO game on FT and donated >$1M. Phil Ivey may well be the roxx0rz @ MTTs and HULHE but he sucks as an overall poker player.
