Default Player to my left folds ~120 hands in a row...

A few weeks back at a casino in Vancouver, the player to my left did not play a single hand for the 4 hours I was there. Folded every hand out of the blinds, folded every SB and check/folded every BB. I have seen some cold streaks in my time but nothing like this. He had a pretty big stack when I got there so I assume he played a few hands earlier, but I wouldn't be suprised if he bought in for this amount.

So he was down 12 SBs and 12 BB for a total of $72 to blinds! At least it was Rakefree!

This wasn't some rediculous nit table either. 5-6 times there would be 6-7 players limp to him in the SB and he would fold. I don't care what hand you have, but if you have just folded the last 100 hands, raise your button!

Maybe he is just awesome. He did have sunglasses, hat, ipod.

Bizarre. I've never seen anything like this, although it could be someone trying to nut peddle their way into one big pot an hour, who simply went 120 hands without AA/KK/QQ or AK.

Could be. I've gone more than that long without getting one of this big hands, many times.

Maybe he was just grinding out time to make a poker rate. I've considered doing that myself.

Seems like a bad idea. Can the poker rate really be that much better to make it worth 4 hours and $72?

I bet he's just a super nit who plays only JJ+. I've seen people do that, although perhaps not quite that nitty.

I had a streak one time at the Trop in AC where I ended up folding every hand except my blinds for about 5 hours. But even then I would play my SB and such. Strange. Maybe he didn't have a lot of money and needed to waste 6 hours.

It depends. The last poker rate I got saved me $200 a night. If he's decided to only play monsters, then he has a good chance at making money and is probably still ahead even if he never plays a hand.

I think that it's safe to say that he was probably just an idiot.

Maybe he was a 'dummy' like people use to drive in the carpool lane.

There to stop players asking for a short handed rake reduction.
