question on ciaffone books

I know there have been some posts on this in the past on his books, but hey im not the best at using search button. What books are worth reading and what sections..im open to holdem and omaha as well...happy thanksgiving to all

Improve your Poker, for starter's..outstanding!

"Improve your poker" is a very good book. PL&NL poker is also excellent, even if most of its topics are now covered by NLHET&P.

"Improve your Poker" is one of the best poker books you can buy period.

PL/NL Poker is pretty decent too, only the NL H'em-Quiz is a bit subpar I think. The book does a very good job of analyzing the elements of NL/Pl poker and is less "academic" than NLHTAP.

His Middle Limit Hold'em book took me a year to finish, but it's worth much more than the 25$ it cost.

His Omaha booklet is a bit thin, but a good first step. Rolf Slotboom's PLO book is probably a decent second book, although I havent read it. Goldmund

He's a thoughtful author with a tight (by 2 + 2 standards) reputation. His books are terrific. Middle Limit Hold'em is superb.

I've only read potlimit & no limit poker and middle limit hold em.

Middle limit hold em is one of my favorite books and potlimit & no limit poker is also very good.

Omaha poker is a good PLO book, with the usual instruction book layout - starting hand evaluation etc. A good starter book.

Pot and no limit poker is good for big bet poker, mainly holdem and PLO. A good beginner book that discusses a lot of the basic big bet fundamentals.

Improve your poker is worth reading if you are in to big bet holdem, limit holdem, or PLO. A general article book, where each article can stand alone. An excellent book, and a good follow up book after reading the ones above.

Middle limit holdem is a good limit holdem book. Takes a hand example approach to all the usual holdem situations.

So 3 of his books are worth reading if you are into PLO, starting with his omaha book. 2 books are worth reading if you are into big bet holdem, and 2 books worth reading if you are into limit holdem.

I own all his poker books and they have paid for themselves many times over.

I personally think he's up there with Sklansky as the two most important poker writers - Sklansky being more technical, Ciaffone is a better writer and more applied.

I can only second what the others have said.... one of my favorite of all poker writers. Lots of example hands - a bit too much reliance on 'what actually happened' in the writeups but lots of fine advice in each of his books that I have read (NL/PL, IYP, and MLHE.)
