[ QUOTE ]
You don't want it. [/ QUOTE ] This is true, and if you do have it you want to get treatment for it. Why, what's up? I don't have it but work in the mental health field so have some knowledge of it and have dealt with people who have it. |

Re: Borderline Personality Disorder
Whiny, needy, constantly playing petty games. Really really great, witty, generous and wonderful when kept in line, but when the 'keeping in line' part stops being exciting and becomes... ugh... I don't need a 32-year-old daughter.

I say that wishing I had thought of it, instead of doing basically the opposite and entering a 2-years-and-counting codependent nightmare.

Re: Borderline Personality Disorder
Allegedly, the best treatment for BPD (otherwise known as "Bad Patient Disorder" because so many therapists get so annoyed with borderline patients (as nearly anyone would)) is DBT - dialectic behavioral therapy.
Can't speak for its efficacy myself, but that's the current buzz. Run Fast? No. Run faster. |

Re: Borderline Personality Disorder
Funny responses! I've worked with a MR adult woman with BPD and PWS for almost 4 years. She is angel or devil, no gray area!
What I think I know: I think they can be potentially very self destructive, behaviorally or physically. Not sure but I think cutters tend to fall into this group. Highly manipulitive. Freind or foe, you are with them or against. Their problems are often externally generated by others in their eyes. Don't assume she has it though, she probably fits the description of 75 different disorders, as do most of us. |
