...to chase your favorite fish, specifically the spewing lagtard on ubermonkey tilt?

I thought it might be interesting to hear about people's risk tolerance when chasing a magnificently tilted fish. Although I have probably played less than 2000 hands above 1/2 nl, and none above 2/4 nl, after beating a fish out of a couple buyins at a 1.5/3 deep game, I found that he/she was sitting in two 5/10 nl games and I found myself seriously considering sitting in.

I've heard some pros say you should never have more than 5% of your role in action at one time. From others I've heard as high as 10%. To sit, I would've had to put approx. 5% of my br to buyin + whatever reloads necessary to keep either a full stack or enough to cover the target. Before I could decide to sit, fish moved to an empty 10/20 table and I decided that was definitely too high for now.

So...how high above your normal limits would you chase your favorite spewing lagtard buddy? What percent of bankroll would you be willing to risk to play a little over your head and take the shot?

i would be less willing to chase a maniac than a calling station due to varaince. But probably not more than 1 level up.

Depends on the kind of fish, I dont really want to follow a 50/50 up but I would happily put 25% of my roll on the table if I had the jesus seat on a 100/0/0 WTSD: 100

i really don't think i'd chase at all, there are so many more fishes in the sea at these low stakes, and often times or not you are misjuding the fish and he is a really good lag you just didn't undertand the play........

on around a $13k BR i sat with $600 at the deepstacked NL1.5/3 tables yesterday, doubled, got to $1300 and was like, err... sitout preflop?

THis was even with a megafish there. I knew I couldnt take a $1k hit.
