Weird 401K issue
I left my job July 14.
I was told I would receive info from Fidelity with options on what to do with my 401K. I never heard from them. A couple days ago, I got my quarterly statement. It listed employer contributions for the period (during which I have been unemployed)! I guess they never told Fidelity I don't work for them anymore. So, is my former employer still giving me money? If so, uh, should I tell them? Will they take the money back? Thanks. |

I'd imagine they would take back those contributions at that point, along with any unvested contributions (if any). |

Re: Weird 401K issue
You might as well tell them now, because at some point they'll find out and keep the money they don't owe you.
