Default Hypothetical question - if a poker player were arrested

Does anyone think if a poker player were arrested and had to go to trial/court for it... that other poker players from either online or pros like ivey/negreanu/brunson/etc would help to pay and make sure he got a great lawyer since the outcome in that case would have a big impact on the legal situation of online poker? Or would people just sit by and remain observant as with the prior bills passage? I understand everyone tried to call their senators and such but this seems a bit less of a commitment than donating money or supporting a legal case.
