Default Who pays for your college?

Just out of curiosity, who pays for your college? Does your playing poker have any influence on this? Also, if you can estimate how many of your peers are paying for college, that'd be cool. I am just wondering because it seems like whenever this gets brought up with people I meet, I am the only one I know who is paying for their own education, food, spending money, books, etc. I would say that I am pretty much financially independent from my parents (although if I really needed it they would definitely give me money and probably not expect it back, even though I would repay them), and that this is definitely not the norm here.

you forget to add a "scholarship category" as "financial aid" is too broad a term.

Anyways, a real answer.....

Private HS: 15k per year

10k scholarship
5k Parents

Undergrad: 35k per year

15k Scholarship
10k Financial Aid
8k Loan
2k Myself from working over the summer

Law School: 50k per year

25k Scholarship
25k Loans

To be fair, my parents teaching me to read and supporting my education through sending me to a private high school are responsible for my scholarships. They also helped me pay for my books and when i needed an extra boost for a special event, concert, etc.

Also, their low income was responsible for my undergrad financial aid grants.
