Am I going to get sued? (MPAA)
So I, like everyone else at this college/the world, downloads movies. I've downloaded about 10 in my 3 years of college.
Today, I got this email from my college: [ QUOTE ] It has been reported that your machine (see below) is distributing materials which are protected by copyright law. Specifically, NBC Universal and/or its subsidiary and affiliated companies (collectively, NBC Universal) reports that they were able to obtain the following: [/ QUOTE ] They went on to list the movie they said they downloaded (it was Bitorrent by the way), and say that my internet was revoked for 45 days for violating the user agreement. Odds on the MPAA/NBC filing a lawsuit against me? Thanks, calcbandit. i dont want to get sued.

most colleges have their own variation of this message...however, from my knowledge with people who've dealt with it, it's not much to be scared of...but that's just for my uni...

nope, you had a party and some friends did it
edit: you are wayy to woried about this, you tell them you have no idea what they are talking about, delete movies, porn, music, format harddrive, etc. they are gonna......?
