Default 2/4...99 hand

WPX 2/4 FR

I haven't been at the table for more than a couple orbits. I also just moved up from 1/2 so I don't have any notes on anyone...so, yeah no reads.

Hero is MP3 with 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

UTG limps, 3 folds, MP2 limps, Hero limps, 3 folds, BB checks.

FLOP - (4 players) 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
3 checks, Hero bets, BB calls, UTG folds, MP2 raises, Hero calls, BB calls

TURN - (3 players) 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
check, check, Hero bets, BB folds, MP2 calls

RIVER - (2 players) 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
MP2 checks, Hero checks...?

Comments?

Thanks

My hand converter didn't work...is there a different one for WPX?

Im neutural with limping with 9-9 preflop

I like the bet on the flop and love the bet on the turn.. MP2 slowing down when the straight arrives showed weakness

I'll bet the river and fold to a raise.. I put MP2 on a hand like A spade 8x or maybe not even top pair

I think that you should raise this pf. You most likely have the best hand but it is vulnerable to OCs. We now have position on the limpers but we also want the button. Make co and btn call 2 cold to play and don't let the blinds play cheaply. We also put pressure on the 2 limpers hit the flop.

As you played, I think you should 3-bet the flop to try and lose the BB. You probably still have the best hand. You can't give MP2 credit for a made flush.

Good turn bet.

I think there is value in a bet on the river because it is unlikely that he will raise if that ten made him a pair and it's hard to believe that he would be drawing to a gutshot. If I knew that he had a low WTSD%, I might not make it.

with no reads on opponent can you really make a value bet on the river?

I think this hand looks pretty good, a raise PF to get position would probably be good but I do'nt think limping is much worse.

Yes, I am quite sure that you can. I've been watching Stoxbroker's videos and he does it all the time.

However, I am not completely satisfied that this is a good value bet and I am open to other opinions.

I think this is a pretty easy raise PF, 3bet on the flop, and value bet on the river.

yeah, I should raise this preflop, maybe Im a little gun-shy, from moving up to 2/4...I wasn't sure about the river value bet. Any smaller PP has me beat, and I didn't think someone would have limped in with A8 or whatever. But, after reading the responses, I shoulda bet the river...

thanks
