Default Flopped NFD w/ action

UB $3R. Don't have hand history, at work.

Blinds 400/800/100, not on bubble or any special circumstances.

Hero: 26K
UTG: 30K
LP: 55K

Hero has: A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

UTG limps (800), Hero (MP2) raises to 3100, LP calls, UTG calls.

Flop (t11,400): 10 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG checks, Hero checks, LP shoves, UTG calls, Hero calls.

i might have to call after UTG did, youre getting good odds to see both cards...if he had folded i would dump it...

Count the outs. There are up to 15, which makes Hero potentially 56% here.

If LP's shoving an overpair like QQ here... With the UTG overcall, you have 12 outs to the nut flush.

Of course sets are to be taken into consideration, and TP or flush may not be good by river if the board pairs, but getting over 3:1, you shouldn't be folding this in a 3R.

Not to nitpick, but are there 16 diamonds in the deck?...

As for the hand - I lead it and either 3-bet shove or call a shove.

Sorry. Coffee's still on the drip. The nut flush AND the A's.

I lead this most of the time too.

I think I'd just shove the flop. It's pretty transparent but you get some pocket pairs to fold before they've priced themselves in.

As played, call.

Stacks were so awkward after the flop, was hoping to check/raise all in, but it would really suck to have it checked through. When it got back to me, I thought for sure UTG had a set, and I wasn't sure if I was getting the odds to draw against a set. But, I figured he could also be a $3 donk and have AT here.

Is shoving the flop the best here? If I lead lighter I'm definitely going to end up calling off my chips.

Edited to include thoughts on UTG.

vs. 2 larger stacks, I usually c/r here OOP. I want action but if it checks through, a free card isn't terrible given my position.

Nath,

I'm an admirer of your style but doesn't this scream FD? How does FE factor into this decision?

From EP, checking to 2 bigger stacks should elicit some action which gets more chips in the middle. I am totally committed to the felt here, but I'd like to get as much in as possible before I push. 2 callers gives me more than necessary odds to call AI. Checking thru gives me a free card.

Seriously, why do you view open pushing as a better option?
