1knl 6max, 77utg+1 hand, turn crai
Effective stacks 1k. Opponent is at two of my tables, and has stacked me once with a higher flush draw than mine. Does not seem to be particularly aggressive thus far in the short session.
I am dealt 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], and after utg folds I raise to 35. I am called by utg+2 as well as the big blind. Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (Pot = 110) BB checks, I bet 80, utg+2 raises to 160, BB folds, and I call. Turn: 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (Pot = 430) I check, utg+2 bets 250, I raise to 805, AI. Great/good/bad/horrid/kill myself? |

Re: 1knl 6max, 77utg+1 hand, turn crai
I'd just lead/fold turn probably.
What is villain's range? A lot of people don't fold AQ here. KQ is even questionable. edit: I take it back about how u may as well have had 96o. Because of how the hand changed on different streets. I still don't like the play though. |

Whoops, sorry. Mistake corrected. I am utg+1, villain is utg+2.

Clear fold on the flop, I really don't see how you can continue profitably here.

Re: 1knl 6max, 77utg+1 hand, turn crai
I mean, you have a seriously weak hand, two outs to improve, and you're either slightly ahead or way behind, and most importantly, you're out of position. If you were in position, you could continue with this hand if you had a feeling that he was weak. If the board was less drawy, you could sometimes rebluff him on the flop, but here you really have no choice but to fold.

I need to stop making "I want my money back" plays, I guess

Re: 1knl 6max, 77utg+1 hand, turn crai
My decision to continue on the flop is motivated by the fact that I cbet what is probably too frequently (read: maybe 90%+ of the time). I feel as though I am giving up too much if I fold every time someone makes a minraise of my cbet. At the same time, I feel that cbetting as often as I am is more profitable than cbetting less often, in the games I am in. I am aware that these two feelings are contradictory. Which one is wrong? Are both wrong? Can these questions be answered without specific knowledge of my opponents?
