As I understand it, Partypoker has stopped offering their services to U.S. customers, based on the new anti-gambling legislation that passed.
I'm just curious as to why Partypoker is still running so many ads on tv. Why buy so much tv time if U.S. customers can't play on the Partypoker.com site. I mean, they don't make any more from the free www.partypoker.net site...do they? |

They likely paid for the airtime in advance and have a contract to run the advertising for x months.

They make so much money from free chips, it's astonishing actually. The rake is slightly higher and more players play free chips.

Party also wants a customer base that it cas use for as-yet unreleased non-gaming businesses.

The truth is they are in an all out battle with Yahoo! Poker for #1 status in player base numbers.
Yahoo! Poker CEO has publically stated he will crush Party Poker within twelve months or a year, whatever comes first. Stay tuned for this epic confrontation. |
