Interesting river play against me
Guy who knows me and probably thinks I know what I'm doing open raises with 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], I 3bet with XX, others fold. We're playing 15/30 at the Bellagio.
Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] He checks, I bet he checkraises, I call. Turn: 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] He bets, I raise, he 3bets, I think for about 5 seconds and call. River: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] He checks I bet he calls. |

Re: Interesting river play against me
Well, I think he's scared of A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Ax. Or maybe a nut flush that you're screwplaying. My guess is that he read your hesitancy as deliberating between calling and raising, not calling and folding.
He may also think that you won't call with a hand like K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], but might get confused and bet it as a bluff. |

Re: Interesting river play against me
Bet call seems to be the only line to take here on the river.

I don't think he would consider capping (spew) or folding (awful) for very long at all. |

If I held AcAx my call certainly would not be instant. |

Re: Interesting river play against me
All,
What's your range for me on the turn once I pause and call the 3bet? |

Re: Interesting river play against me
Nate,
If I am betting KcKx there it's for value because I when he checks the river I think he has a smaller black overpair. I'm not saying I would do that here but if I bet it it's never as a bluff Justin, Of course I'm capable of 'thinking' with a hand that contains the A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Also if I have AcAx I'd likely be using real time to start considering my river action. |

Re: Interesting river play against me
I bet he has an overpair. I can see how he can can 3bet the turn forcing you to fold if he believes he has the best hand at this point. River seems consistant with an overpair too.

Re: Interesting river play against me
You have pocket 3's. A typical bellagio 3 bet.
