Overpair on scary flop

Villan is one of the better regs imo, hes like 23 13ish or something and aggro. After the hand I thought about it some, I thought that I liked c/cing this flop instead of cbetting it. I am obviously influenced by the results of the hand, but wondering whether other people may have taken this line before and there thoughts on it.

I think it is sort of a WA/WB situation. His range for ccing on the button either crushed that flop or probably completely whiffed, with the one exceptiong being QJ.

he could have AJ, KJ, JT, T9, T8. hes in the button so he didn't really check call preflop.

and on this type of flop its almost never WA/WB

also: there is a heart draw on the board but i messed up my op and I have the Qh.

I dont really think he ccs w/ AJ KJ here. The other thing is simply I dont really think I am ahead of pair+oesd, which he will also raise me with here. I want to see the turn as I think my equity does change, but simply put I dont want to get raised off my hands by a bunch of QJ JT T9 T8 hands and such, which I think may happen. I guess its sort of more for pot control and to see what he does, but betting here seems like it can get raised which puts me in really bad spot often, or else folds out his worse hands.

I guess I am saying that I want to avoid playing a big pot here, and I think c/cing accomplishes that rather then betting which will create a big pot way too often.

Wanting to play a small pot = OK
Giving every hand in the world a chance to beat you = BAD

If you aren't CBing with an overpair what the deuce would you cbet with? You absolutely have to bet here and FOLD if you really think you are beat instead of calling the other guy down.

The fact that the board has two hearts and is straightening doesn't mean that it automatically hit your opponent everywhere. Bet out and reevaluate the next action.
