Default Did I make a mistake folding?

Hi, this is my first post to this site, and I was hoping I could get some input on the hand I've posted below. A couple of notes on it, I know my call preflop was speculative at best, but my opponent had been aggressively raising from that position all night. His check raise was a little more sizable than seemed average for the table, and so it threw me off some. Now after the fact I think he had a hand like KKs or QQs. Nonetheless, I would appreciate any insight anyone can offer me and also some advice as to whether this is good as a kind of hand to post for analysis. Thanks in advance...

Did you make a mistake folding? Hell no. You put out a bet on the flop to see where you are and you found out that you're no good. He almost certainly has a better ace than yours, and even if you are behind, there are 9 cards that will either kill you or kill any action you may get.

In short, you're probably behind, and even if you are ahead, (1) you're probably not ahead by much and (2) its unlikely that you can extract any more than you already have. Thus, you're reverse implied odds are huge, and your positive implied odds are tiny.
Correct me if I'm wrong someone, I am after all just learning NLHE.

that preflop call is ugly, especially with only a 1/2buyin

Agreed. You got to learn how to play short optimally if you are gonna sit there with half a stack. Better to go play NL100 full stacked than to play NL200 short if this is how you play.
