Live 8-16 game, pretty tight game with only two bad spots.
I'm dealt 10-10 2 off button. 2 limpers to me and I flat call (I know..i know..). Player to my immediate left calls, button raises --- these two players are the bad spots in the game, very loose pre-flop and beyond. Easy to read through most the hand, will bet with something, check with nothing. Both blinds muck. FLOP 2-5-7 RAINBOW Action goes --- Check, check, I bet, raise, Call (OG BUTTON RAISER) Fold...fold ..I Call 3 handed to the turn TURN J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] for a board of 2-5-7-J NO FRUSH POSSIBLE I check, next player goes all in for 3 chips, Button completes to 8 chips. What's my play here? |

I think you have to call down since you underrepresented your hand PF and the villain could be isolating the all-in player who could be pushing with anything.

Did I play this like a passive little old lady? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, I think you were too passive early in the hand. I think you should have raised preflop. The flop bet is good IMO. When raised, I would have actually reraised with your overpair, got C/O all in here, and get heads-up with the button. I think you probably have the best hand here. [ QUOTE ] player goes all in for 3 chips, Button completes to 8 chips. [/ QUOTE ] At the turn, shouldn't the button have completed to 16 here? As played, I don't think there is any way you can fold here, particularly given your read on the C/O and button. I would raise before I fold. However, I think a call is good here. I would call planning to check-call any non-ten river. |

C/c it down at this point. Man I really don't know why you didnt' raise PF with TT, get the weak players to cold call that shizzle. |

He knows he should have raised with his T's. It only took me one time (getting outdrawn and losing a large pot)not raising or reraising a premium pair. The next few times you play, count how many premium pairs(A's to T's) that you get dealt. Not bumping these hands up the few times that you get them is not getting full value for them IMO & others as well. You have to make the cats calling with J3o pay dearly for it. I have even kicked myself for not reraising other hands like AKo& AQs etc. It used to be that I just called with hands like this. Wrong! It takes a few losing some big pots and getting outdrawn to figure it out. Getting outdrawn will still happen in LHE but just the nature of the game. I played the other night for about an hour & a half and only went ot showdown with one hand(AKs)bu it won a big pot. I still got called all the way down with it. Amazing! Even with a board of AA8Kx I got called all the way down.

I begin by a preflop raise.
Assuming I called: After the button raise, I would reraise. Assuming I didn't reraise. I would bet the flop and reraise. Assuming I didn't reraise the flop: I would bet at the turn. Assuming I didn't bet at the turn. Since the pot is protected, raising is risky and perhaps worthless, I would just call. |

I know it's been said, but it bears repeating: Raise preflop
post flop i'm completely lost in this hand because there was no raise pf. |
