($22 PS) Bubble, 77 in the blinds, facing a raise
I got totally frozen here. Early bubble, so play was fairly tight, and the raiser didn't seem to be getting out of line so far. Calling, raising, folding..none of them seemed right at the time. Stack sizes were a little awkward.

Re: ($22 PS) Bubble, 77 in the blinds, facing a raise
I call looking to hit my set against the other big stack and check fold if I miss my set.
I do not come over the top here on the bubble with your stack. |

Calling is terrible considering stack size and size of raise.
This is a clear push/fold spot, I lean toward folding. |

With the current blinds and his stack he has PLENTY of time if he misses the flop because this is a non turbo. Pushing here makes no sense with his stack and the buttons stack with the current blind level. I agree on folding here sometimes too but I really dont think calling here is a bad play. |

Re: ($22 PS) Bubble, 77 in the blinds, facing a raise
Assuming you win all of the SB's chips everytime you flop a set then calling would be about an even money play in terms of cEV. It is definitely a losing play in terms of $EV and this is assuming what I stated above, which is assuming a lot.
edit: just noticed you were the BB which makes it not quite as bad since you're only calling 400. Your still not winning enough real money here the times you flop a set to make it worthwhile. |

Re: ($22 PS) Bubble, 77 in the blinds, facing a raise
If you call, there will be t1300 in the middle and Button will only have t2800 behind. Just not a good spot to be in. Villain raised almost 1/5th of his stack. Just a really clear push/fold spot.

Re: ($22 PS) Bubble, 77 in the blinds, facing a raise
id probably fold without a read. from what ive seen, at least at the turbos, a raise of 4x at t150 is that of a player who usually isnt crazy about his hand but will also not fold before the flop very often, meaning you have very little FE, although youll always have some here. problem is, if you shove and get called its pretty disastrous, calling bloats a huge pot playing only for set value as well, so id fold. if he made it 3x id probably have called, or perhaps shoved with a read.
