Default TT OOP on turn

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (7 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Villain is unknown, hasn't really done anything i've noticed as out of the ordinary. Assume he is loose, reasonably passive. MP2 who folded on the flop was a complete goose who's 40BB stack he lost to me with 2nd pair no kicker not long ago.

What do we think he has and what do we do?

He probably has a pair or a FD. Bet for value.

his range is pretty wide, but there are plenty of draws and one pair hands we are ahead of, so bet.

If we bet, how much, and are we intending to call a raise? Because if we bet say 20 we would be getting 5-1 to call off the rest. If the answer is yes then might as well we not just push it? Or is he calling 20 with hands A9 but not a push?

i think betting 20-25 and calling a shove is fine, no reason to push yourself, we arent really looking for FE here.

Bet half his stack or so and call a push. He's short and you have an overpair on a fairly safe board, be happy to get ai.

Not to many good players play with 50bb stacks so you can probably assume hes a little donkish. I want to get it in and accept whatver happends as your ahead a good portion of the time.

Actually it was at $50NL so he had a full stack.

Results were i pushed it. I agree though that i should have just bet it normally. Pushing pretty much makes him call if he's ahead and fold if behind i would think. Maaybe he folds JJ or something but he probably doesn't have that based on pf action anyway.

One interesting thing though is that with a flush draw (+ overs) he can profitably call 20 on the turn, assuming i am willing to get his last 16 in on the river (i am not 100% of this, but my rough math says so). The interesting thing is that he might, like plently of people would, peel one on the flop with a fd but then fold the turn. At the same time he might be calling with A9 type of pair hands. So i think that by betting 20 or so there is a good chance of him doing the wrong thing with his draws and also with his made-but-worse-than-me hands. But if i bet more he would fold both correctly, leaving him only playing the hands that are better than mine.

Anyway, he insta called with top set. I blame my mistake on having run good that session and losing focus and feeling too confident.

I don't mind the play. You'll get called by a flush draw plenty of times. A lot of players may look you up with some 1 pair hands or something even as crappy as AQ.
