1 table live satellite Top 2 move on to $2500 tourney - Strategy
playing a live 10 person satellite on Saturday where top 2 go on to Sunday. The players are the top 100 of a point challenge involving the daily MTTs for the last 6 months. So the players are better than average.
The blinds last longer than the normal tourney and we start with 50% more chips. So considering these are MTT players should I just sit back and let knock each other out and try to slide in 2nd or get involved because I need chips on the bubble. The sunday seats I figure are worth $2500. Also do decent MTT players understand ICM when it comes time to the bubble of a satellite? I assume they probably will but those with more experience what do you think? Should I play it more like a STT or cash game early? |

Re: 1 table live satellite Top 2 move on to $2500 tourney - Strategy
I usually give "decent live MTT players" credit for being able to dress themselves, but not much more. Id just let them [censored] around early and not get out of line, but bet your good hands aggressively and then exploit the bubble b/c probably none of them have any idea what ICM is.
