Before someone else says it, look at the FAQ, use a converter.

Put in a real raise pre-flop and maybe he doesn't come along. But yes, he is a donk and you got unlucky.

That was my initial thought.. how much would you raise him preflop?

Come on. You've never made a mistake when you get all-in as a solid favorite. Bad beats happen; there's no way to avoid them.

I was thinking maybe there was a slight mistake preflop.. no mistakes post-flop.

I doubt raising more preflop is going to get him to fold--look, he called all-in with nothing but a one-card nine-high flush draw. He's terrible. Not to mention that you should be happy when your opponents are willing to play this poorly. Don't look for ways to avoid getting your money in as a favorite.

That said, I generally open raise 4x the big blind plus one big blind for every limper preflop. So, for example, if there's one limper I would make it 750 to go at 75/150 blinds.

Pot it PF. Rest looks good. Next time, the best part of a donkey to barbecue and eat is his flank.
