PSA to College Poker Ballas

I know I will get flamed for this post but...I have been thinking about doing it for awhile and I read a couple of posts today that made me think I have to do it. If I am able to get through to one of you then that is worth getting flamed.

If you are a college poker player and you are really a great player making a ton of money (over 10k per month...hell even 5k) and you are playing poker more than five hours a day in my opinion you should stop.

College is a great time of life. It is one of the best times of life. If you are so great at poker then once you graudate and have enjoyed being around coeds, peers, and parties, poker will still be there. If it is not so be it. You can probably still make a lot of money anway playing 2 - 4 hours a day.

Seriously, when you graudate you will have all the time in the world to play poker. College is a truly unique experience that cannot be replicated. Don't waste your college experience behind a computer. Go out, get drunk, get laid, take trips, have fun. Poker will still be there and you can still play. Some of you talking about not getting out of your dorm rooms and not seeing sunlight are scaring me. Seriously...you will thank me.

You must be busto? Screw that. Play as much as you can while still getting drunk, getting laid, and having fun and put as much away in a bank as you can while poker is at its height of profitablity. Assuming the said person is a winning player.

a better is plan is to stop/continue not going to lecture and keep playing poker.

If it is, he'll have a tough time convincing since Jesus understands poker players.

I hate to say it, but OP is 100% correct.

I was actually talking to a buddy of mine (fellow old guy, well 28) about it. We're both very glad online poker wasn't around in our day. I shudder to think about all the great times and memories I would have missed out on if I was holed up in my room all day playing poker.
