What happens when you lose your only car key?
I'm having the worst day ever right now. I believe I have lost my ONLY car key. If I dont find it, what do I do? Can I get a new key? Do I have to call the dealership?
I know I'm an idiot for not making another set. I get this, so please refrain from rubbing that in, and give actual advice as to what the hell I'm supposed to do. Is it going to cost me tons of $$$?

if it's a newer car and it has an RF ID thing, or a computer chip in it, then yes on the $$$ question. And by newer I mean 2000+. Good news is the dealership does this all the time, and will be able to get them for you. but a set will be $100+

Yeah it's 2000 Blazer. I'm looking for the key now. If I dont find it I'll call the dealership.
Car only has one key and a fob. The latter of which I never use because the car alarm is a piece of crap and always goes off.

depends on the car and the Key. But if you have your vin number (usually on your title and registration) you can go to any dealer and request keys.
If your keys are "special" (Like have a computer chip in them,look like 12 sided Die etc) then its usually around 100 bucks a key. My example is for my camaro. I lost all the keys (Door Key, auto opener , Ignition key) the set coat me 350 total. Also in most cases you can only get ignition keys from dealers.
