Mike Matusow killing poker
Anyone see his ESPN interview this morning? I couldn't find a youtube clip but here's some quotes:
"Sports betting is better than sex!" "I wasn't a drug dealer, heck people would sit at my table and I was giving the coke and ecstasy away!" "I've lost thousands of dollars at online poker but I'll eventually win millions" or something to that effect. "Jail wasn't so bad, if I had online poker to play jail would have been great!" This is seriously the worst kind of publicity we could get, scumbags like Mike getting media attention makes us all look bad.

This is more of an NVG thread, but his quote about losing money online was something closer to, "One day I'll win 10 million online, and then just sit back and say, "I told you so.'" Something close to that.
And yeah, he's obviously a douchebag. He/editors definitely spun it to make it seem like he got convicted of drug trafficking because he had wild parties with bowls of drugs sitting out for people to take.

I do not think he is "killing" poker. Yes, he is a scumbag and yes, it is only a matter of time before he is dead or back in jail but I really don't think non-poker playing ESPN viewers look at that and hold him up as the example of what a poker player is.
