Tourney - 360 entrants, only about 100 left after an hour.

I'm Chipleader with $11k, 2nd with $10, rest only about $1-3k

BB (50/100)- QQ, everyone folds round to late position (2nd in chips) who limps, OTB folds, SB makes up the difference. I make it $450 to go, 2nd in chips goes all in, SB folds.

First question WITHOUT background - Do you call?

2nd in chips only has $10k in chips because he's sucked out a few times then doubled up against me when going all in pre-flop with Q7o, I called with KK and he rivered his way to a straight. He has been playing every hand and overbetting most hands.

i call all day with this read. Without a read, I hate the limp reraise all in. screams monster to me, i fold it and live to fight another day.

I am the friend who said he should have folded. I didn't see the point in calling an all-in bet against the only other guy with as many chips.

I don't play MTTs, but I reasoned at the time that a big stack was worth more later down the line than a 65%/35% confrontation with an ace or a king here.

I suppose we should be playing for immediate value though, and not worrying about what may or may not happen later, but even so, I don't really equate folding QQ to a 100xBB all-in to being the same kind of play as waiting for premium hands when short-stacked.

I suppose I owe the OP a pint ... I told him to post this hand!
