Default Can accessing our poker sites be in jeopardy?

You'll have to excuse my internet "illiteracy" but is it possible to stop someone from accessing a certain site? i.e. someone in america trying to log on to a poker site? Through a few grapevines I heard of a guy who knew a guy (lol) who had an account with a site and when he went to it he was blocked. I apologize if this is the most stupid thing anyone has heard but could this be possible?

Sites can block your isp. I think there was some speculation about poker sites doing this, but it didn't make much sense to me.

[/ QUOTE ]This actually has been debated as to whether or not this will be a possible outcome. Most here tend to believe it will not happen. If it came to that, there are work arounds, but it would for sure affect the casual player base, possibly even more so than the banking regulations. My personal opinion is that the law was written so loosely, that despite others who probably know more than i do,saying it wont happen,i have taken a wait and see attitude. Not because i think its a probability, but more because i think its a possibility.

i dont think it will happen just because of the sheer involvment of the ISP's in question. sure you only have to get the backbone providors, but if they dont immediatly jump on the bandwagon, it will be tough unless they get the websites to block US IP's. even then, there will be workarounds to see them anyway and any site that is still willing to accept US players would not block their IP's out of the blue, you'd see it coming.
