Default Add-on and sub domains?

I just got my first website registered and did some adjustments on it but I want to add some things and am not sure how. At this point the only thing I really have is a homepage but I would also like to add a forums and links page that viewers can link to. If somebody could just point me in the right direction for setting these pages up it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Does your host have Fantastico? If so, you can automatically install a forum system.

If not, you can download phpbb and install it (free).

your host should have given you a link to a control panel of some sort for you to log into. (i would suspect you had to go through here to load your homepage) in the control panel you should have a subdomain section where you essentially just type in what the subdomain.yoursite.com and it creates it. the forum might be a little trickier but with most hosting is still pretty much just the matter of pressing the button to create it.

whos your host?
